SSMS understands that internship is a great opportunity for students to learn about their trade before graduating. Internship programs, which will place the students in a real work environment, can help them understand the challenges as well as the opportunities that a career path may offer. SSMS provides our interns with a mentor directly assigned by work unit leader (mill manager, estate manager, department manager, etc.) and accommodation facilities close to where they will work.
The internship program at SSMS was started in 2010. In 2017, the company facilitated 485 interns comprising high school, diploma, and bachelor degree students from various educational institutions.
